Precautions for the use of resistance spot welding machine:
(1) Precautions for welding electrodes
Electrode materials are commonly made of aluminum oxide copper (red copper), cadmium bronze, chromium bronze, tungsten alloy, etc.;
The shape of the electrode is various, mainly determined by the shape of the weldment.
When installing electrodes, pay attention to the appearance of the upper and lower electrodes to be parallel;
The three-dimensional electrode should be kept clean, and it should be trimmed with emery cloth or file.
(2) Precautions for welding process
Welding cycle The welding cycle of spot welding and projection welding consists of four fundamental stages (spot welding process).
Pre-compression stage-the electrode drops to the current-on stage, to ensure that the electrode is pressed against the workpiece, so that there is proper pressure between the workpieces.
Welding stage-the welding current passes through the workpiece and generates a high temperature to form a nugget.
Maintenance phase-cut off the welding current, the electrode pressure continues to be maintained until the nugget is condensed to a sufficient strength.
Resting phase-the electrode is lifted until the electrode begins to drop again, and the next welding cycle begins.
(3) In order to improve the function of the welded joint, it is sometimes necessary to add one or more of the following items to the welding cycle:
Increase the pre-pressure to eliminate the gap between thick workpieces and make them fit tightly;
Use the preheating pulse to improve the plasticity of the metal, so that the workpiece is easy to fit tightly and avoid splashing;
Adjust the current or welding time to achieve the ideal welding effect for the welding workpiece;
Doing so during projection welding can make multiple bumps evenly contact the plate before energized welding, so as to ensure the divergence of heating at each point.

Spot welding is a resistance welding method in which the weldment is assembled into an overlap welding head and pressed between two cylindrical electrodes, and the base metal is melted by resistance heat to form a welding spot. Spot welding is mainly used for welding thin plates, wires, small hardware and other products. The process of spot welding:
(1) Preload to ensure good contact of the workpiece.
(2) Energize to form a nugget and plastic ring at the weld.
(3) Power-off forging, so that the nugget cools and crystallizes under the continued pressure to form a densely structured solder joint without shrinkage or cracks.
